Where Are They Now: Deepher Krista
Alright boys and girls, today we are going to learn about a very special and amazing person. She is not only the best first grade teacher we know, but she was also a part of the best organization on the planet... Delta Phi Epsilon! Thats right, today we are talking about Miss. Krista Rizzo.
Krista is a founding member of Delta Phi Epsilon and has been actively involved since 2015, serving as the Vice President of Recruitment during her time in Zeta Gamma. While Krista was on campus she was known for her bubbly personality, eye for design and most importantly her love for DPhiE. Krista graduated in Spring 2017 and since then she has put her degree in Elementary Education Pre-K-4 to good use. She is currently employed as a first grade teacher in Maryland and she absolutely loves it.
"...its wonderful! I screamed for joy when I got this job and still so happy! I love teaching and making a difference. My students get me out of bed every day! My favorite part is the growth my students have made despite adversity." ~ Krista Rizzo
Delta Phi Epsilon has given Krista an amazing support system during the rough times and has given her the confidence to move to Maryland on her own and become the best version of herself. Her favorite memory in DPhiE was when the sisters got together during the time that her father was dying and donated money so she could go visit him in hospice care. She chose DPhiE because she knew this organization represented something more than just a sorority, for Krista is was a sisterhood dedicated to giving back to those in need.
Some fun facts about Krista is that she absolutely loves cheese. Ummm who doesn't girl?? She also lived in a rural village in Alaska for three months while still at Kutztown as part of her completion of her degree in Education. Last but certainly not least, Krista has an adorable kitty cat named Coca-Cola. Her family line in Delta Phi Epsilon includes her twin, Holly LaCapra (Alum), her little Sarah Jopko (Vice President of Membership) and her GLittle, Emily Rudderow (Coordinator of Public Relations). The Imperial Family has made quite the impact and continues to do so. Though she is not on campus, she continues to make memories with sisters and show her love of DPhiE everyday. We love you Miss Rizzo and can't wait to see you again!
