Courtney Renaldi
Founders class (fall 2015)
Positions held: Vice President of Recruitment for 2 years
Courtney oversaw DPhiE recruitment for 2 years, helping our chapter grow and welcome in many amazing girls during her time in the position of VPR. Her dedication and commitment to our chapter is something we all cherish. Not only did Courtney hold this position in our chapter but she was also involved in Special Olympics, Love Your Melon, Friends of Rachel, National Society of Leadership and Success, Alaska Distance Intervention Program and Gamma Sigma Alpha Honor Society. Clearly Courtney was very involved throughout her college experience. Even with all of her involvement, Courtney earned a degree in Elementary Education, Pre-k-4. With this degree, ideally, Courtney would love to be teaching kindergarten in a district that’s not too far away. At some point in the future, she would like to come back to Kutztown to obtain her Master of Education Degree in Reading. But for the time being after graduation, Courtney is hoping to get a job substitute teaching until she can secure a full-time teaching position for the upcoming school year.
"Thank you, Zeta Gamma chapter, for giving me my home away from home. I have found my forever friends and bridesmaids over the past four years in this organization and I am so thankful for everything it’s given me. Thank you for the constant love and support through my four years in this chapter, as well as during the hardest two years as Vice President of Recruitment. You all mean the absolute world to me and I hope you never forget how proud I am of all of you."
To Em,
"I didn’t know how much I needed you in my life until we became friends. Thank you for being my other half, my rock, my best friend, and my partner in crime. I am so proud of everything you do and will continue to do, and I know you’ll do an amazing job following in my footsteps as VPR. I couldn’t think of anyone else more perfect for the job. Thank you for always making me laugh until I cry and for being a ray of sunshine on my rainy days. I’ll miss spending every waking moment with you but this isn’t a goodbye, it’s a see you later. Enjoy your last year before graduation as much as you possibly can, don’t spend too much time napping. I love you always." -Court
To Court,
“I don’t think when we meet a person we realize how much they could change our lives, and then...they do. I cannot remember a time when you weren’t my go to. I can’t imagine a life anymore where you weren’t a FaceTime away. Thank you Court, for opening the door and letting me stay with you. Thank you for knowing and being everything I needed even when I didn’t know what that was. You’ll do big things out there you idiot, and I’ll be here every step of the way”
-Em

Kristen is officially a graduate of Kutztown University, where she earned her degree in Communication Studies and minors in Public Relations and Women Gender studies. Looking into her future, Kristen hopes to be working in the public relations field as an account coordinator or on a company's creative team. "My dream job would be to work for magazine that covers a wide range of topics like Philadelphia Magazine or at a nonprofit organization that works to support and assist those who experience oppression and need a stronger voice to advocate for them", Kristen says. We can see you have big goals for yourself in the future and we are confident that you will reach for the stars. While Kristen plans for the future, she will return to Bucks County where she will spend time with her family while settling into post-grad life and searching for a job. She is hoping to be able to come back to KU and "watch this chapter continue to grow and all the amazing women included grow with it!" We would love for you to visit us and keep us updated on everything you are accomplishing, we are going to miss your bubbly personality everyday!
"My favorite memory of DPhiE is the night i received my bid. Being a founder the process went a bit differently for us. We were under the impression that we were going to a preference round of recruitment and during the ritual we received “notes” that were to thank us for our time and speak on what value we could have to developing this organization. Those notes actually ended up being our bids! what made this night so special for me was having my older sister Keri, who is an alumni from Lasalle University’s chapter of DPhiE, surprised me by attending the ceremony and was the one who got to hand me my bid."
To my little G,
"I am so unbelievably proud of you and the time and dedication you have put into this organization. whenever needed you step up to the plate to take on a position, participate in other organizations events, and kill it during Greek Week. You are such a strong and powerful woman who has exceeded all exceptions i have had of you. Thank you for being by my side and talking me through all the drama and hardships that are thrown my way. Thank you for all of the laughs and memories shared together. because of you leaving Kutztown is all that much harder. Continue to be your true self and never let anyone tell you to be any different!" -Kristen
To Kristen,
"Kristen is who she is and doesn’t change that to please anyone. For that reason, when I’m with her, I never feel the need to hide from who I am. You’re never gonna meet anyone more kind and accepting than my big- your loss.” -G
Candace Katen

Positions held: Ritualist for 2 years
"One day, I hope to move down south to continue my teaching career. My dream job would be to teach kindergarten in Georgia. I want to grow and raise a family there and maybe even live on a farm! I have a lot of family that lives down there too which would allow me to spend more time with them. I love animals and children so interacting with them makes me happy. My goals include volunteering more at animal shelters and working with low income children. I want to make a difference in the world for the rest of my life." Candace graduated with a degree in Elementary Education Pre-k to 4th grade and was also involved in Student PSEA during her time at KU. Shortly after college, Candace plans on finding a teaching position in the area and living at home for a couple of years. She would love to teach kindergarten, "I think my bubbly personality would fit right in with those students!" She eventually wants to get an apartment and buy a car she is also going to continue working at her daycare during the summer and babysitting so she can be around children as much as possible!
"There is no 'typical' DPhiE woman, that is what is so special about DPhiE. Our organization is made up of strong women who feel passionate about our philanthropies and strive to achieve academically. All of our sisters bring something special to our organization. We pride ourselves on having such diverse sisters who feel strongly about the different things they are involved in. I am proud to say that I have been able to volunteer at the Cystic Fibrosis gala the past three years. To be able to interact with others who feel so strongly about our philanthropy as much as I do is amazing and to be able to meet those who are living with CF is even more inspiring."
To Mandy,
"I cannot believe the day is finally here that you are sending me off. I remember the day you walked into our room for recruitment and the day we both started crying because I knew you would fit perfectly as a DPhiE sister. You are beautiful not just in your looks but in the way that you are. You give your all to this organization. I have seen you work so hard and it has really payed because now you are our current president. You deserve everything and more. I wish you the best and that your senior year is everything you want it to be. I love you with my whole heart. I will never ever forget you and the impact you made on me. You made me realize how fortunate and grateful I am to be in this organization." -Candace
